PATRICIA E. MUNSON

PATRICIA E. MUNSON, 78, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Friday morning, February 24th, at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28th, at 10:30 a.m.at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Gerry Bruhn will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service held at 10:15 at the funeral home Tuesday morning. Visitation with the family present will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday morning until service time at the funeral home. Patricia was born on April 12, 1933 to Arthur & Margaret (McClain) Brown at Cherokee, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Lyle Munson on December 13, 1951 at Sioux City, Iowa. She was a homemaker and had worked as a CNA at St. Joseph Hospital. She had been a resident of Sioux City, Iowa since 1951, prior to that in Indianapolis, Indiana for a few years, Spencer, Iowa and was originally from Cherokee, Iowa. In her younger years she used to sing on the Cherokee Radio Station. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church. Patricia enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, scrapbooking, drawing, and writing poetry. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle on May 30, 2010 and a son Jerry Munson in 2008.

Patricia is survived by her 6 children: Marlene (Ron) Ransom of Sioux City, Iowa; Carol (Steve) Sorenson of Sioux City, Iowa; Lesa (Wayne) Trudeau of Hospers, Iowa; Steve Munson of Sioux City, Iowa; James Munson of Sioux City, Iowa; Patti (Dan) Marsh of South Sioux City, Nebraska; a daughter in law Janice Munson of Sioux City, Iowa; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
