PATTI LYN WINTERHOF

PATTI LYN WINTERHOF, 61, of Aurelia, Iowa passed away June 17, 2012 at her home in Aurelia, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 30th, at 10 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Bruce Rapp will officiate. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Patti was born October 4, 1950 in Mitchell, South Dakota to Edwin & Melba (Thorsrud) Maddox. She graduated from Cherokee Washington High School in 1968. She received her LPN degree from Western Iowa Tech in 1978 and EMT in 1979. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Cherokee Villa from 1973-74, Sioux Valley Hospital from 1978-1988, Sunset Knoll 1982-1984 and as an LPN at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute from 1988 until her retirement on June 24, 2010. Patti was united in marriage to Don Woods and then later on to Dean Winterhof. She enjoyed her grandchildren, shopping, playing cards, QVC, American Idol and the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Melba Maddox and both her ex-husbands.

She is survived by her three children: Eric (Ekaterina) Woods of Shoreview, MN; Nathan (Andrea) Winterhof of Peoria, AZ; Rachel Winterhof Berg (Chris) of Mesa, AZ; 3 grandchildren: Olivia Wilson, Maria Woods & Marshall Woods; three brothers and one sister: Jerry (Carol) Maddox of Reno, NV; Michael (Rebecca) Maddox of Minneapolis, MN; Murray Maddox of Minneapolis, MN; Peggy Mosher and her special friend Les of Fargo, North Dakota.
