RUBY E. GALLICK

Ruby E. (Brown) Gallick, 95, of Indianapolis, Indiana and former Quimby, Iowa resident passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2012, surrounded by friends and family at Brookdale Senior Living at Fall Creek, in Indianapolis, IN, where she had resided for the past three and a half years.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Quimby United Methodist Church. Rev. Carolyn Hollar will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Ruby was born on September 30, 1916, in Quimby, IA, to Virgil and Lela Brown. She graduated from Quimby High School in 1934 and soon married Wayne H. Kirkpatrick. She later married Edward F. Gallick and resided in California for most of her life. Ruby worked most of her life in cosmetic sales and was happiest when spending time with friends and family.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bill, Guy and Lauren Brown, a sister Mary Dungan, by her son, Theron, and by her husband, Ed.

She is survived by her youngest brother, Gerald “Mick” Brown and his wife Judy of Quimby, Iowa; daughters Karen Gifford (Ron) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Judy Schumacher (Steve) of Olathe, Kansas; a daughter-in-law Rosemary Kirkpatrick of Arthur, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
