JEAN ANN ROBERSON, 73, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 22, 2014 surrounded by her family at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center
Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 25th, at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cherokee. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Visitation will be on Friday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Jean was born on August 20, 1940 at Cushing, Iowa to Earl & Julia (Parker) Cipperley. She graduated from Washta High School in 1958. She was married to Harold Roberson on January 22, 1959 at Washta, Iowa. Jean had worked as Deputy Clerk of Courts at the Cherokee County Courthouse for over 35 years. She enjoyed camping, reading, and visiting with her friends over coffee. She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Pauline Tomlinson, Wanda Paska and her husband Joe, and an infant brother Eldon Cipperley.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harold; two sons: Brad Roberson and his wife Sherri of Ashburn, Virginia; Bryan Roberson of Cherokee, Iowa; two grandchildren: Melody and Ethan; brother: Lanny Cipperley and his wife Jean of Ida Grove, Iowa; sister: Phyllis Newman and her husband Darrell of Ida Grove, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
