ADELLA E. SPRINGER, 81, of Cherokee, Iowa, formerly of Fairfield, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday evening, April 29, 2008 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2nd, at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Richard Arndt and Pastor Larry Lemke will officiate. Graveside services and burial will be on Saturday, May 3rd, at 1 p.m. at the Firth Cemetery at Firth, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Adella was born June 20, 1926 at Barneston, Nebraska to John and Emma (Nieman) Lobsinger. She was married to Walter R. Springer on September 15, 1945 at Marysville, Kansas. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She had lived in Cherokee since August of 1997, prior to this at Fairfield, Nebraska for many years. Adella entered Carage Hills in October of 1998. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She did charity work in Fairfield, Nebraska especially the Mobile Meals Program, was a 4-H supporter and active in the saddle club. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter in 1993 and a sister Martha Lobsinger.
She is survived by two sons: Dale Springer of Cherokee, Iowa; Fred Springer and his wife Linda of Cherokee, Iowa; one granddaughter Nicole Springer of Cherokee, Iowa; two step grandchildren Steven Markland of Cherokee, Iowa and Matthew Markland of Unadilla, Nebraska; one brother Dean Lobsiger of Lincoln, Nebraska.
