ALAN E. PIATT, 70, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 8th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Magrey de Vega will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday. Visitation will be on Monday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the family present from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com
Alan was born November 3, 1942 at Norwalk, Connecticut. He grew up in the New York area and moved to the mid-west in the 1960's. He worked for High Country Salvage for several years. He mowed yards in the summer time and scooped snow in the winter time for several friends and businesses. His pride and joy was his two mopeds which he kept spotless and looking pristine. He was a great fan of Elvis Presley and had a large collection of his memorabilia. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee.
He is survived by a sister Janet Johnson; also several dear friends including Shirley Thomas of Cherokee; Mike and Ginny Bunt of Cleghorn.
