ALFRED V. STEINER, 79, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away Sunday evening, February 15, 2015 in the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. due to complications of lung cancer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Richard Dungan will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery with military rites by L.A. Wescott Post #2253 of the V.F.W. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Visitation will be on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials. He had lived in Spirit Lake, Iowa the past 34 years and prior to this had lived in Lisbon for 15 years, Anamosa for 3 years, and Mechanicsville, Iowa for 3 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Donna, and a step-brother.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, one son, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a brother.
