ALICE MARIE LEACH, 87, of Hartley, Iowa and former Sioux City resident, passed away Friday morning, December 26, 2014 at the Country Side Estates in Cherokee.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Jon Riggert will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Alice was born June 16, 1927 at Sioux City, Iowa to Charles and Ruth (Kephardt) Nelson. She grew up in the Sioux City area; attending Sioux City Schools and East High School. She was married to Willard J. Leach Jr. on May 23, 1951 in Boston, Massachusetts. The couple lived in Hartley the past 25 years, prior to this in Sioux City for many years. She was a homemaker. Alice was a member of the St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartley, Iowa. She enjoyed traveling, wintering with her husband in Arizona and many years of boating and camping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother-in-law LaVerne and Dearl Cheatwood.
She is survived by her husband Willard of Hartley, Iowa; two sons; Duane Leach and his wife Carol of Sibley, Iowa; Robert Leach and his wife Donna of Cherokee, Iowa; 4 grandchildren: , Kari (Brent) McLaren, Michael (Kathy ) Leach, Jason (Bridget) Leach; Jackie (Lance) Glade;
7 great grandchildren: Cora and Ailie McLaren, Jayleen and Kaycee Leach, Karalynn and Tate Leach, Ganyn Glade.
