ALLAN R. KECK, 69, of Sibley, Iowa, formerly of Washta, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Sibley Specialty Care Nursing Home in Sibley, Iowa.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washta Church of Faith. Ms. Sue Ritts will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery at rural Washta, Iowa. Military rites will be performed by L.A. Wescott Post #2253 and the Cherokee American Legion. Visitation with the family present will be held an hour prior to services beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Cherokee County Suicide Coalition in Allan’s honor.
Allan was born on April 21, 1957 to Lloyd and Colleen (Griffith) Keck. In his younger years, he loved spending time with his dad on the farm helping with chores and the cattle. He attended Willow Schools, excelling in athletics, especially basketball, where he earned all-conference honors. He graduated from Willow High School in 1975. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as disabled veteran. Allan was blessed with three children Kayla, Melissa, and Josh.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family, going out to eat, people watching, traveling, and watching sports and cowboy westerns.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Colleen Keck.
Allan is survived by his children Kayla (Cole) Lennon of Akron, Iowa, Melissa Briggs of Cherokee, Iowa, and Josh (Stephanie) Keck of Washta, Iowa; 11 grandchildren Alyssa (Kyle) Pudiwitr, BrookeLynne Lennon, JosiLynne Lennon, and Sonnie Lennon, Dominic Foley, Mya Briggs, Lucas Bruening, Jonathan Keck, Stormy Kenkel, William Keck, and Charlotte Keck; 6 great grandchildren Blake Pudiwitr, Tyler Pudiwitr, Kaleb Pudiwitr, Natalee Book, Nixen Wurth, and Navee Wurth; siblings Lowell Keck of Trimble, Missouri, Julie (John) Curtiss of Larkspur, Colorado, and Sandra (Kevin) of Bedford, Iowa; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
