Obituary

AMY JOE VANDER BROEK , 41, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Tuesday evening, June 8, 2021 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Private family memorial services will be held. There will be a public visitation and time of sharing memories with the family on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the Spring Lake Yacht Club in Cherokee, Iowa from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Amy was born on December 22, 1979.  She was raised by her mother and step-father Sharon and Jay D. Bloyer. She attended high school, graduating in 1998.  She entered into the service and was a member of the United States Army National Guard with the rank of Specialist.

She was married to Caleb Vander Broek on January 13, 2007 at Orange City, Iowa.  She worked as a plant manager for Staples and at American Natural Processors in Galva, Iowa.

She loved attending and watching her children's sporting events and extracurricular activities, taking walks, cooking, and shopping at the mall.  She was a huge Wisconsin Badgers fan.

She is preceded in death by her mother Sharon Rench Nelson, sister Tahira Seefeld, and father-in-law Tom Vander Broek.

Left to cherish her memory are three children: Taylor, Christian, and Jaxon Vander Broek all of Cherokee, Iowa; husband Caleb Vander Broek of Cherokee, Iowa; step-father Jay D. Bloyer of Merrill, Iowa; nephew and niece Tristen and Tyra Seefeld of Wisconsin; mother-in-law Diane (Tim) Daniels of Storm Lake, Iowa; Caleb's siblings and spouses: Cora and Matthew Brumlow, Renèe and Josh Meis, Michael and Hannah Vander Broek; aunt and uncle Vicky (Dale) Willie of Wisconsin; two cousins Jessey Nelson of Waterloo, Wisconsin and Jennie Rae of Wisconsin.
