ANNA MAE SCHLINZ, 82, of Holstein, Iowa passed away, Saturday evening, June 28, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society in Holstein, Iowa
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. Burial will be in the Correctionville Cemetery at a later date. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.
Anna Mae, the daughter of Ben and Allie Kabisch, was born on May 26, 1932 in rural Correctionville, Iowa. She received her education at Washta Community School in Washta, Iowa, graduating with the Class of 1951.
On Jan. 20, 1952, Anna was married to Virgil Schlinz at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Their union resulted in four children: Betty and Bob Desko of Erie, Pennsylvania, Susan Jarvis of Albert City, Dean and Shanda Schlinz of Cleghorn, and Karen Gabriel of Eden Prairie, MN. She enjoyed life as a farmer's wife, living and raising her family in Cherokee County. Anna and Virgil made their home south of Cleghorn for 18 years. She enjoyed cross stitching and spending time with her grandchildren. Anna had eight grandchildren: Tina and Ben Fox of Overland Park, Kansas: Josh and Jessica Law of Lee Summit, Missouri.: Kristin and Shannon Brown of Moville, Iowa; Stephanie and Mason Cady of Albert City, Iowa, Jason and Kayla Lindsay of Spencer, Iowa; Derek, Bryan and Megan Schlinz of Cleghorn, Iowa; ten great grandchildren: Bailey, Avary and Tristen, Colin, Sylvia, Sienna, Aiden, Dalton, Paige, and Candace. She is also survived by her very, very special sister-in-law Phyllis Kabisch of Washta, Iowa
Anna is preceded in death by both of her parents and brothers Marvin Kabisch and Stanley "Bud" Kabisch and his wife Gloria.
