Arlene Warner was born to Frank Elwin and Cora Belle Kissinger DeWitt on August 6, 1933 at their home five miles south of Cherokee. She was christened Mildred Arlene, but went by Arlene all of her life.

Arlene was the youngest of 8 children, and spent her childhood having many adventures with her sister Patricia, playing house, making mud pies, and playing jacks. When Arlene was a freshman, a cute boy tapped her on the shoulder at a basketball game, and asked her how old she was. Neil Warner quickly captured her heart, and on June 8, 1952, she married that cute boy. To this union two daughters, Holly and Kristine were born.

Family was everything to Arlene, and she found great joy in raising her daughters, helping on the farm, and then spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She absolutely glowed every time she got to hold another new great-grandbaby. Arlene and Neil spent 69 wonderful years together, and their marriage served as a beautiful example of love, joy, and commitment to their two daughters, six grandchildren, and most everyone they came across.

She was a member of the Quimby United Methodist Church, where she showed her great love for God by serving on various committees through the years, and was always willing to step up and help with whatever was needed, even serving meals at community events into her 80s. She spent her last years enjoying coffee, Bible Study, church, and Sunday lunches with her good friends.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Neil, her parents, Frank & Belle DeWitt; six siblings, Naomi Furhman, Carroll DeWitt, Donald DeWitt, Ralph DeWitt, Alice Noble, and Doris DeWitt.

She is survived by daughters, Holly (Gary) Graham of Peterson, Iowa and Kris (George) Thiessen of Everly, Iowa; grandchildren Rebecca (Kevin) Goeken, Rochelle (Adam) Pfeifer, Preston (Angela) Graham, Whitney (Amy) Thiessen, Calvin (Krissy) Thiessen, and Clarissa (Nick) Bierstedt; 18 great-grandchildren; Kyle, Noah & Abby Goeken, Asher, Neil & Evan Pfeifer, Piper, Ava & Shaela Graham, Warner, Wren, Wyatt & Willa Thiessen, Cooper, Isla & Saige Thiessen, Elsie & Henning Bierstedt, her sister, Patricia; as well as many nieces and nephews. Her presence in our lives will be greatly missed.
