AZALIA K. ESQUIVEL, 78 , of Quimby, Iowa, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 11, 2021 at her home in Quimby surrounded by her family.

Memorial services for friends and family will be held on Friday, September 17 ^th at 2 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor David Doellinger will officiate. Private family burial will be held in the Quimby Cemetery at Quimby, Iowa following the memorial service with Pastor Don Meyer officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, September 17 ^th , from 10 a.m. until service time at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Azalia was born to August & Gladys (Hollingshead) Huck on December 3, 1942 in Quimby, Iowa. She graduated from Quimby High School in 1960. She worked at Hartley Creamery in Cherokee, Iowa and then worked at Vilas turkey processing in Storm Lake, Iowa where she met her husband, Xavier Esquivel.  She and Xavier then moved to Chicago and raised their family.  They eventually moved back to Quimby in the early 80's where she worked at Hilltop nursing home and Casey's General Store in Cherokee.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading her bible, pampering her cats, playing cards with family, adult coloring books, bird watching, and playing Bingo.

Azalia was preceded in death by husband Xavier Esquivel, parents August & Gladys Huck, brother August "Sonny" Huck, sister Zelda Hanson, brother-in-law Chester "Chet" Hanson, daughter Carmen Joines, in-laws Melecio & Cleofas Esquivel, nephew Michael Hanson, and niece Theresa Huck.

She is survived by her brother William "Joe" (Nancy) Huck of LaCygne KS.  Daughters: Polly (Fritz) Laddusaw of Pierson, IA, Greta (Armando Moreno) Millen of Cherokee, IA, Rubi (Jay) Peters of Luverne, MN. 11 grandchildren: Zachary, Udelvina, Joey (Brooke), Matthew (Shauna), Sara, Nathaniel, Christopher, Michael, Benjamin (Ashley), Anthony, Elizabeth.  8 great grandchildren: Caitlyn, BeBe, Ari, August, Hope, Zoey, Lucy, Grace, and many nieces and nephews.
