BAILEY KAY CORDOVA, 11 year old daughter of Chris & Carrie Cordova, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away on Sunday morning, November 11, 2012 in the Children's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska due to complications of open heart surgery.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 14th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Pastor Jon Riggert will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church on Wednesday. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Bailey was born on January 10, 2001 at Cherokee, Iowa to Ted "Chris" & Carrie (Nielsen) Cordova. She was baptized on January 11, 2001 at Omaha, Nebraska. She was currently a fifth grader at Cherokee Middle School in Cherokee. She liked the outdoors, spending time with her parents and loved to go shopping for clothes.

She is survived by her parents Ted "Chris" & Carrie Cordova of Cherokee, Iowa; a sister Breanna Nielsen and a brother Andrew Freese both at home in Cherokee; maternal grandparents Carl & Connie Nielsen of Cherokee, Iowa; paternal grandparents Ted & Donna Cordova of Walsenburg, Colorado; a special nephew Logan; aunts and uncles: Cindy & Randy Weflen of Aurelia, Iowa; Colby Nielsen of Cherokee, Iowa; Juanita Cordova of Walsenburg, Colorado; Tony Cordova of Walsenburg, Colorado; special cousins: Nathan & Kimberly Weflen, Donna Lynn Medina and Krista Cordova.
