Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 12 th , at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Bob Stout will officiate. Burial will be at the Sunset View Cemetery in Washta, Iowa. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Beth was born September 12, 1929 in Washta, Iowa to John & Gladys (Kerns) Haburn. She graduated from Washta High School in 1947 and then attended Buena Vista College for one summer receiving her teaching certificate. She taught country school in Rock Township for one year. Beth started working at the Cherokee County Courthouse in 1949. She was married to Bobby Glenn "Bob" Hatch on May 31, 1952 in Sioux City, Iowa. In her early years at the courthouse, she worked in the Assessor's Office, then the Auditor's Office and finally the Recorder's Office, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing cards, and going to the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob on September 10, 2017, sisters and brothers Lola Mae Haburn, Lyle Haburn, Dean Haburn, John (Betty) Haburn, Roger (Diane) Haburn, and Diane Haburn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Duane Wright, Donald (Audrey) Hatch, Freeman (Phyllis) Hatch, Maxine (Ed) Priz, Marjorie (Elvie) Albers, Bonnie (Bob) Robinson; also several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her two sons; Cameron Hatch of Cherokee, Iowa; Lindsay Hatch (Jerri Frangenberg) of Cherokee, Iowa; five grandchildren, Kayla Ludvigson and her husband Kellen, Christy Hatch, Nicole Hatch, Mason Hatch, and Courtney Hatch; four great grandchildren Corra Carmen Kay, Wyatt Lars Ludvigson, Effie Marie Ludvigson, and Blake Joan Ludvigson; two sisters: Sharen Wright of Scranton, Iowa; Joan Haburn of Cherokee, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
