Obituary

BETTY J. CAMARIGG, 86, of Washta, Iowa passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 26th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Washta United Methodist Church. Rev. Carolyn Hollar will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the Church on Monday. Visitation with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Betty was born January 29, 1924 in Douglas Township, Ida County, Iowa to Clyde and Blanche (Powell) Conley. She graduated from Washta Consolidated Schools and never missed a day of school her entire school years. She received a teaching certificate from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake. She was united in marriage to Robert Camarigg on November 27, 1942 at Dakota City, Nebraska. Bob was in the trucking business and Betty often rode with him and was his bookkeeper. She was later employed by Zenith in Sioux City and later for Green Thumb at the Washta Library for 12 years. Her greatest pleasure was her family. She enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, Skip-Bo Cards and Pogo; was proud of having over a million tokens. She was a member of the Washta United Methodist Church, the Church Circle, the Progressive Club, Sunset View Cemetery Assoc., luncheon widow's club, and the Senior citizens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob Camarigg, a sister Opal Cowan, a granddaughter Crystal Borer and a great granddaughter Mariah Beaumier.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra Domina and her husband Don of Washta, Iowa; 4 granddaughters: Cammy Vondrak, Sheila (Mike) Beaumier, Shari (John) Orr, Carla Murphy; 14 great grandchildren, a sister Cecile Krier of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, several nieces and nephews, close friends Betty Schirmer, Betsy Clark and her dog Princess.
