December 9, 1954 – August 14, 2019
Beverly Jean Hiller , 64, of Lakewood, Colorado and formerly of rural Marcus, Iowa passed away August 14, 2019, at her residence after a courageous 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Beverly donated her body to her alma mater, the University of South Dakota Medical College. Services are pending in Lakewood, Colorado. There are no local services planned at this time. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Township Cemetery at a later date.
Bev was born December 9, 1954, to Russell and Phyllis (Lindsay) Hiller in Cherokee, Iowa. She was baptized April 5, 1955 at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, rural Marcus.
She graduated from Marcus High School in 1973 and from the University of South Dakota in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology.
Bev worked in hospitals in Sioux Falls, Sioux City, Grand Island, and Anchorage, Alaska. In 1987 she enrolled at Colorado State University and received a Master's Degree in Environmental Health in December of 1989. The last 15 years she had been employed as an Industrial Safety Officer at the National Renewal Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado.
Bev's interests during her younger years included music (piano and flute) and 4-H. Later in life her interests turned to traveling, historical old buildings, time with her co-workers, and her Norwegian Elk Hounds.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Beverly is survived by her brother Bruce (Julie) Hiller of Cherokee, Iowa; aunts Janet Lindsay of Lexington, Ky., and Carole (Park) Hollenbeck of Manteno, Il.
