BEVERLY A. KINTIGH, 78, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Cherokee Villa Nursing & Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16th, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. There will be a family prayer service at 2:15 p.m. at the Church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Cedar Cemetery at a later date. Beverly was born May 23, 1931 in Cherokee, Iowa to Earl and Beulah (Krout) Powell. She attended schools in Spirit Lake and graduated from Wilson High School in Cherokee in 1949. She was married to Howard Kintigh on November 8, 1958 in Cherokee, Iowa. She had worked at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute as a Residential Treatment Worker for 39 ½ years, retiring in 1991. She had been a resident of the Cherokee area most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to garage sales, collecting coins and "Beanie Babies" and time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Howard in 1974.
She is survived by three sons: David Kintigh and his wife Lynn of Cherokee, Iowa; Bradley Kintigh and his wife Cordelia of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Terry Kintigh and his wife Jody of Baudette, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two sisters: Bonnie Lou Kuhrts of Aurora, Colorado; and Donna Faye Kelley of Larrabee, Iowa; two aunts Shirley Rasmussen of Cherokee, Iowa and Marcella Cline of Cherokee, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.
