BLAINE  D. OLSON, 17 , of Correctionville and Cherokee, Iowa, passed away, Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City due to injuries received from a motor vehicle accident.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1 ^st , at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Don Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation with the family present will be on Friday, March 31 ^st from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Blaine David Olson was born December 30, 2005 in Cherokee, Iowa to Brian and Candice (Sargent) Olson. Blaine attended River Valley Elementary and High Schools, as well as Washington High School. He worked at Hy-Vee Warehouse in Cherokee since the summer of 2022.

Although 17 years may not seem like enough, Blaine used his time on Earth to touch many lives. He loved his family and friends deeply. When Blaine enjoyed something he put his all into it. He loved baseball, golf, fishing, hunting, music, gaming, fixing his hair, working on sound systems, and most of all spending time with his friends.

Blaine's life was spent loving and being loved by his family and friends. He was active and present for those who needed him. He was always ready with a kind word, playful roast, or a funny story, and he gave the most amazing hugs.

His impact does not end with those who knew him. Through the Iowa Donor Network he will be able to help as many as 100 individuals and their families.

Blaine believed that Christ was his Savior, that his sins were washed away by His sacrifice, and his family is comforted knowing that he is in Paradise with Him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elizabeth Olson, Jim Olson, and Don Sargent.

He is survived by his parents, Candice Olson of Correctionville, Iowa and Brian and Bree Olson of Cherokee, Iowa; his siblings, Case Olson, Riley (Tyler) Petty, Easton Lunders, Avrey Knipper, and Kylee (Morgan Ehrp) Knipper; grandparents, Leslie Sargent, Dawn Olson, and Mike and Deb Fox; uncles and aunts,  Jason and Kaira Sargent, Jamie Olson, Brady and Angie Olson, and Blake and Tina Fox; cousins, Brody Sargent, Noah Sargent, Brook Sargent, Britney Sargent, Shayla Droegmiller, Brecken Olson, Leighton Olson, Olivia Fox, Kendyl Fox, and Jace Fox; nieces and nephews, Caroline Anderson, Beau Ehrp, and Breyer Wallace; as well as many, many friends.
