BONNIE M. JOINES, 81, of rural Meriden, Iowa, passed away Tuesday morning, April 18th, 2017 in the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Jon Riggert will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Bonnie was born on August 29, 1935 at Paullina, Iowa to Lester and Lorna (Hoermann) Hagenbucher. She attended Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Paullina High School in 1953. She was married to William H. Joines on October 24, 1953 at Paullina, Iowa. She had worked for Paullings Grocery Store in Paullina and for The Donut Shop in Cherokee for several years. Bonnie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ronald "Bud" Hagenbucher and his wife Jean, a son-in-law Scott Blades, a brother-in-law Duane Main and a nephew Mark Main.
She is survived by her husband William H. Joines of Meriden, Iowa; four children: Steven (Susan) Joines of Woodbury, Minnesota; Brenda Blades of Milliken, Colorado; Michael (Terri) Joines of Waukee, Iowa; Gregory (Brenda) Joines of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister: Donna (Daryl) Nelson of Cherokee, Iowa.
