BRENT A. APPLEBY, 38, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Thursday morning, June 29, 2017 in the Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3rd, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Cris Decious will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church on Monday. Visitation will be on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com
Brent was born on May 7, 1979 at Cherokee, Iowa to Dave & Linda (Tribby) Appleby. He graduated from Cherokee Washington High School in 1998. He was married to Kelly Crane and they had two sons together, Evan and Macaib. He was then married to Brooke Frehse on August 20, 2016 at Cherokee, Iowa and to this union there were two sons Carter and Kaiden. He had been the manager at Godfather's Pizza in Cherokee for several years and had been driving a truck for Outlaw Trucking of Meriden, Iowa until his health failed in February of 2017. Brent had lived in Cherokee most of his life except for a short time in Spencer and Aurelia, Iowa. He was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Brent enjoyed riding his motorcycle, snow skiing, sitting around the campfire and socializing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Brooke; his four sons: Evan, Macaib, Carter and Kaiden Appleby; his parents Dave & Linda Appleby of Cherokee, Iowa; sisters: Jennifer Appleby of Sioux City, Iowa; Cheri Blaise of Cherokee, Iowa; Megan and Jesse Kaufmann of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; six nephews and two nieces; his in-laws: Steve and Gloria Frehse of Spencer, Iowa; and other relatives and many friends.
