BRUCE A. TRAPP, 61, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Friday afternoon, December 30th at
Unity Point Health St. Luke's in Sioux City, Iowa.
Bruce was born October 25, 1955 in Anaheim, California to Leo and Elaine (Gerjets) Trapp. The family lived in California until he was 5 years old and then they moved to Aurelia, Iowa. He graduated from Aurelia High School in 1973. He attended trade school on an academic scholarship to be a boiler room operator. He lived in Aurelia until he was 19 and then took a job with Southern California Edison as a Control Room and Boiler Room Operator. He was married to Roxanne (Wood) Luesse in 1983. They lived in several towns in California. In 2001 they separated and Bruce retired from his job and returned to Cherokee to live. He was affiliated with the Lutheran Church. He enjoyed shooting guns, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the Oakland Raiders and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his daughter Dawn (Andy) Staver of Cherokee, Iowa; one son James Trapp (Olivia Logan) of Sioux City, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Ember, Nash, Lane and Reagan; a brother Blake Trapp of Aurelia, Iowa;
As per Bruce's request the remains were cremated and there will be no services. The Boothby Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
