BRYAN KENNETH BYERLY , 60, of Washta, Iowa, passed away Friday evening, May 15, 2020 at his residence.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, May 21 ^st , at 11 a.m. at the Sunset View Cemetery in Washta, Iowa. Pastor Joe Goemaat of The Taintor Community Church at Taintor, Iowa will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Bryan was born on August 7, 1959 at Cherokee, Iowa to Kenneth & Viola (Powell) Byerly. He attended elementary school in Whitewater, Wisconsin. He graduated from Cherokee Washington High School in 1977. He was married to Deb Reimert on September 5, 1980 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, Iowa. He attended Western Iowa Technical School from1983-84 receiving a degree in Horticulture.

Bryan had worked for the Parks and Rec Department in Sioux City and also for several lawn care services. He had most recently been employed at Staples Inc. in Marcus, Iowa. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Bryan enjoyed stock car racing, working on cars, watching monster/horror movies, fishing, camping, music concerts, and especially spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Byerly and a brother Craig Rice.

He is survived by his two children: Shannon (Byerly) Hora (Jeremy) of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Nathaniel Byerly (Kimmy) of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Gabriel, Thaddaeus, and Benjamin Hora; his mother: Viola Byerly of Cherokee, Iowa; his siblings: Dean Rice (Barb) of Paullina, Iowa and Jerilyn Hippen of Webster City, Iowa; Sandy Brus (Steve) of Manilla, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
