CHARLOTTE "LOTTIE" DAVIS, 97, of Sheldon, Iowa and former long time Cherokee, Iowa resident, passed away Friday morning, February 11, 2011 at the Sanford Hospital in Sheldon, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 16th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Wednesday morning with the family present from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Lottie was born December 3, 1913 at Sutherland, Iowa to William & Mary Schutt. She was married to Jay Davis in July of 1935. She was a homemaker. Lottie enjoyed reading, walking and working on puzzles. She had been a resident of Sheldon since 2008 and prior to this had lived in Spencer for 4 years and prior to that was a longtime Cherokee, Iowa resident.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jay Davis in 1971 a daughter Doris Jean Brunning, an infant daughter, a granddaughter Shari Brunning; 3 brothers Fritz ,Carl and Ralph Schutt, a sister Annie Stoner, and two sons-in-law Jim Brunning and Howard Mordick.

She is survived by two daughters: Mary & Glenn Lang of Elkton, South Dakota; Rose Mordick of Sheldon, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; one sister Clara Hahn of Holstein, Iowa.
