CHESTER JEROME McBRIDE JR., 55 of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Unity Point Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

It was Chester's wishes to be cremated and that there will be no services or visitation. The Boothby Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Chester was born March 23, 1960 at Waterloo, Iowa to Chester McBride Sr. and Doris (Minor) McBride. He attended schools at Tama, Iowa and later received his GED. He attended colleges at Fort Dodge, Iowa and Marshalltown, Iowa receiving a CNA degree, Physical Therapy degree and a mechanical engineering degree. He was married to Mary Miller on July 30, 1994 at Fort Dodge. He had been employed at Tyson Foods in Cherokee for 18 years, retiring when the plant closed in September of 2014. He had lived in the Cherokee area for many years; prior to this in Storm Lake and Fort Dodge, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, playing cards and time spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard McBride.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, three children; Chris (Kyle) Tibbals of Clove, New Mexico, Brian Tibbals of Moore, Oklahoma, Raven (John) Hutchinson of Newton, Iowa, 9 grandchildren; two sisters Gale Minor and Joan McBride both of Soap Lake, Washington; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; Delores (Keith) Onnen of Perry, Iowa, Katheryn (Norman) Venenga of Wellsburg, Iowa, Dean Miller of Dumont, Iowa, Linda (Craig) Stickley of Parkersburg, Iowa.
