CHRISTOPHER WOLTMAN, 20, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 31st at 11 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Don Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Christopher was born September 30, 1989 at Kwang Joo City, Korea. He attended Cherokee Schools. He played football in junior high school. He played the viola and saxophone in the school band and orchestra, and was active in debate. He was baptized and confirmed at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby, Iowa. He was rebaptized at the First Church of Christ in Cherokee. He had worked as a telemarketer, working for Allorica and Edge in Sioux City, Stream in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and Market Link in Storm Lake, Iowa. He enjoyed skateboarding, fishing, playing guitar hero, baseball and playing the electric guitar. He had lived in the Cherokee area all his life.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Harold and Edna Woltman and his maternal grandfather Harold Songer.
He is survived by his father Lloyd Woltman of Cherokee, Iowa; his mother Kathleen Rogers and her husband Neal of Las Vegas, Nevada; special friend Tara Brandt and her daughter Taylin of Sioux City, Iowa; maternal grandparents Marvel and Joel Holt of Marion, Iowa; aunts and uncles; Doyle and Nancy Woltman of Cherokee, Iowa; Deanne and Dick Howard of Cherokee, Iowa; Merlin and Sue Woltman of Quimby, Iowa; Duane Woltman of Cherokee, Iowa; Darrell and Lori Woltman of Aurelia, Iowa; Robert and Betty Songer of Las Vegas, Nevada; Bill and Paula Songer of Winterset, Iowa; Ed and Connie Songer of Patterson, Iowa; Mark and Laura Holt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Lisa and Patrick Metrot in France; also many cousins.
