Clinton E. Kelly , 84, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Accura Healthcare at Cherokee, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Mike Agnew will officiate.  Burial will be in the Afton Township Cemetery at a later date.  Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7 p.m.  The service will be livestreamed on the Boothby Funeral Home website through the assistance of Fuller Digital Solutions. Clinton was born on January 28, 1938 at Larrabee, Iowa to Leo and Hazel (Gould) Kelly.  Clinton's father, Leo, died in the United States Army on April 1, 1945.  Clinton's mother was left to raise him and his two sisters, Joyce and Carol.  He graduated from Cherokee Wilson High School in 1955.  He attended Buena Vista College majoring in business administration with an emphasis in accounting.

He was to married Marlene Jensen on June 6, 1956 at Cherokee, Iowa.  Clinton worked for Swanson's Grocery Warehouse, B & H Hatchery and Feed Store, and then for the Iowa State Highway Commission completing survey work and inspection of highway projects.  He also worked for Wilson's Foods and Goodwill Industries before working as a dispatcher at the Cherokee County Law Enforcement Center until his retirement.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, son Todd Kelly, sister Carol Troeller, and brother-in-law Lee Spence.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene of Cherokee, Iowa; daughters , Valerie (Mark) Woodrum; Melanie (Joe) Capesius and their children, Gabrielle, Patrick, and Mason;  daughter-in-law, Michele Kelly and her children Amanda and Garrett; two great grandchildren, William and Leana; sister, Joyce Spence; and brother-in-law Ralph Troeller.
