COLLEEN E. KECK, 91, of Cherokee, Iowa, formerly of Washta, Iowa, passed away on April 25, 2025 at The Beck in Cherokee, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Washta Church of Faith in Washta, Iowa. Pastor Barb Dinelli will officiate.  Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery at rural Washta, Iowa.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.

Colleen was born on March 5, 1934 to Lloyd and Mabel (Warren) Griffith.  She attended Kingsley Schools, graduating in 1952.  She attended Business College in Omaha and worked in a bank before moving to Washta, Iowa.

Colleen was united in marriage to Lloyd Keck on April 15, 1955 to Lloyd Keck, together they were blessed with four children, Allan, Lowell, Julie, and Sandra. She stayed at home raising the four children and assisting her husband on the farm with whatever was needed.

She was a member of the Washta Church of Faith.  Colleen held various offices within United Methodist Women.  She also taught Bible School and Sunday School at church.

Colleen cherished time spent with her family and loved being on the farm.  Lloyd and Colleen spent 30 winters in Arizona to get away from the cold and also enjoyed spending time in Okoboji.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd Keck, siblings Gwen (John) Bierman, Warren (Pete) Griffith, James (Bob) Griffith, and Wyman (Emma Lou) Griffith.

Colleen will lovingly be remembered by her children, Allan Keck of Yankton, South Dakota, Lowell Keck of Trimble, Missouri, Julie (John) Curtiss of Larkspur, Colorado, and Sandra (Kevin) Schubert of Bedford, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Griffith of Kingsley, Iowa; also many nieces and nephews.
