DANNIE EDMUND ZUPP, 72, of Washta, Iowa, passed away Tuesday morning, September 13, 2016 in the Accura Health Care (Countryside Estates) at Cherokee, Iowa.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 17th, at 11 a.m. at the Sunset View Cemetery in Washta, Iowa. Mr. Charles Gilmore will officiate. It was Dannie's wish to be cremated and there will be no visitation. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the arrangements. Dannie was born on April 8, 1944 at Washta, Iowa to Clifford & Lue Alice (Johnson) Zupp. He attended Washta and Grand Meadow Schools through the eighth grade. He served in the United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam War with an honorable discharge on July 9, 1965.He had worked for Hon Industries (a manufacturer of metal office furniture) in Van Nuys, California for several years. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church. Dannie was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. He enjoyed reading and art.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Leona (Mrs. Robert Saxen), Beulah (Mrs. Lawrence Saxen), Blanche (Mrs. Edmund Saxen), Fern (Mrs. Ford Joy); brothers Clifford, Neal, Bob, Douglas, and Dick Zupp.
He is survived by two sisters: Beverly (Monteno) Leonard of Washta, Iowa; Arbie (Ralph) Merideth of Kansas City, Missouri; also many nieces and nephews.
