Darlene M. Fletcher

Darlene M. Fletcher, the daughter of James and Agnes Mundy, was born on June 7, 1923, in Cherokee, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Sutherland where she attended school and graduated from Sutherland High School.

 She was united in marriage to Roman “Red” Solko. They had two sons, Vernon and Marvin. She was later married Clarence Fletcher.

 Darlene worked for Swanson’s Grocery in Cherokee. She then worked for IPS and MidAmerican until her retirement. She enjoyed spending many years wintering in Texas.

 Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, James and Agnes Mundy; son, Vernon Solko; husband, Clarence Fletcher; and one granddaughter, Linda Dean.

 She is survived by her son, Marvin and Judy Solko; one granddaughter, Nicky and her husband Dana Sleezer; two grandsons, Robert Solko, and Brian and Diane Kraft; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
