Obituary

DAVID M.  HILL, 78 of Kenyon, Minnesota and originally of Cherokee Co., Iowa, passed away Friday morning, November 6, 2020 at his winter home in Mesa, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 13 th , at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Jon Riggert will officiate. Burial will be in the Afton Township Cemetery, rural Cherokee, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 12 th with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. David Max Hill was born on January 20, 1942 at Cherokee, Iowa to Charles W. & Mary (Barlow) Hill. He attended Aurelia Schools. He started work in the floor covering industry laying carpet and ceramic tile. He later became a cabinet maker and retired in 2005.  He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) and later joined the Brown Road Southern Baptist Church in Mesa, AZ where he was active in the men's bible study, volunteered regularly in the church office, and was a regular member of the weekly prayer group.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Marilyn, and sister Carol Otto.

He is survived by five children: Lynda (Randy) Fernholz of West Salem, Wisconsin; Brenda Hill of Kenyon, Minnesota; James (Nina) Hill of Austin, Arkansas; John (Tina) Hill of Hettinger, North Dakota; Paul (Trisha) Hill of Belle Fourche, South Dakota; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; his siblings: James Hill of Paullina, Iowa; Duane Hill of Cherokee, Iowa; Dianne (Roy) Lyons of Orange Park, Florida; also several nieces and nephews.
