DELORES E. ROBINSON, 76, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 1st, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Richard Arndt will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Aurelia, Iowa at a later date. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the Church on Thursday. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Delores was born August 1, 1933 at Alta, Iowa to William and Esther (Grieme) Ell. She graduated from Aurelia High School in 1951. She was married to Melvin Robinson on September 1, 1951 in Cherokee, Iowa. She had worked as a ward supervisor at Cherokee Mental Health Institute from 1966 until 1995. She had lived in Cherokee since 1980, prior to this on farms in Willow and Rock Township. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aide, Wa-Tan-Ye, the Sew-a-Bit Club and the Bona-Vista Club. She enjoyed bowling, coffee time with friends, and time spent at the Iowa Great Lakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin on June 20, 2005, a son David in 1979 and a sister Mona Jean Ell.

She is survived by her seven children: Barbara Scott of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Donna Geidl of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Bonnie (Jim) Kohn of Cherokee, Iowa; Dan Robinson of Cherokee; Scott Robinson of Sioux Center, Iowa; Sharon (Steve) Watkins of Las Vegas, Nevada; Roxanne Cunningham of Ames, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Wise of McCook Lake, South Dakota; Donna (Don) Tillis of Spencer, Iowa, two brothers Duane Ell of Spencer, Iowa; Marvin "Randy" Ell of Eagle Grove, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.
