DENNIS M. BROOKS JR., 45, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Saturday morning, September 11, 2010 in the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa following a lengthy illness.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 18th at 11 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. The family asks that you bring a memory of Dennis to share with his family and friends at the service. It was Dennis' wish to be cremated. There will be no visitation. Dennis was born on September 1, 1965 at San Diego, California to Dennis M. Brooks Sr. & Consuelo Valencia Brooks. He graduated from Kerney High School in San Diego. He was married to Angela Sump on September 9, 1992 at Lake Ozark, Missouri. He worked as a chef for several years at the Lake of the Ozarks. He had also worked as a welder for JTV in Sutherland, IA, Freisen of Iowa in Storm Lake, IA and Lundell Manufacturing in Cherokee. He retired due to declining health in February 2005. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, and collecting anything Batman.

He was preceded in death by his Father in 2002, grandparents: Pedro and Paula Valencia, Leonard and Emily Brooks; one uncle: Francisco Valencia.

He is survived by his wife Angela and 4 children: Kaleb Stillings, Sean Brooks, Victoria Brooks, and Bridget Brooks, all of Cherokee, IA; his mother: Connie Williams of Dallas, TX; two brothers: Tony Brooks of San Diego, CA and Tommy Williams of Dallas, TX; one sister: Angela Brooks of Osage Beach, MO.
