DENNIS R. KRAFT, 77, of Larrabee, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.  Pastor Mike Agnew will officiate.  Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home.  Family burial will take place at Cedar Cemetery at a later date. Services will be livestreamed on the Boothby Funeral Home website through the assistance of Fuller Digital Solutions.

Dennis was born on November 10, 1947 to Raymond "Bud" and LaVera (Brodersen) Kraft at Ida Grove, Iowa.  He graduated from Homer High School in Nebraska in 1967.  He began working at Wilson-Tyson Foods in 1967.  He was united in marriage to Mabeth Elaine Grayson on November 24, 1978 at Larrabee Methodist Church.

After 42 years at Wilson-Tyson Foods, he retired in 2009.  He served on the Larrabee City Council and had membership at various golf courses around the area.

Dennis enjoyed mowing lawns and doing yard work, golfing, and especially loved attending grandkids' school events and watching their hobbies.  He also liked watching and cheering for the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and LaVera Kraft, in-laws Merle and Margaret Grayson, granddaughter Gabby Kellen, niece Linda Dean, brothers-in-law Joe Johnson, CJ "Packy" Saxen, Keith "Pete" Grayson, and brother and sister-in-law Steve and Julie Grayson, also several aunts and uncles.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Mabeth Kraft of Larrabee, Iowa; four children, Tammy and Mark Whittle of Lexington, North Carolina, Tracy and Denise Kraft of Cherokee, Iowa, Tori Kraft of Cherokee, Iowa, and Melissa and Karl Kellen of Granville, Iowa;  grandchildren Justin Grause (Preslee Newman) of Lexington, North Carolina, Cody Rassel (Angie Forney) of Cripple Creek, Colorado, Brycen (Paris) Mough of Gonzales, Texas, and Laura (Jake) Stokely of Larchwood, Iowa, Derik Smith of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Krista (Tyson) Pfingsten of Wahpeton, North Dakota, Paige (Taylor) Randall of Cherokee, Iowa, Wyatt Kraft of Ute, Iowa, Allysa Kraft of Cherokee, Iowa, Kameron Kraft of Cherokee, Iowa, Justus Kraft of Missouri, and Ethan Roberson of Cherokee, Iowa, Emily (Austin) Strayer of Ackley, Iowa, and Avery Kellen of Granville, Iowa, Zach(Kelsey) Kellen of Granville, Iowa, Allison (Tyler) Kanaly of Sioux Center, Iowa, Morgan (Abby) Kellen of Alton, Iowa, and Mason Horkey of Alton, Iowa; 19 great grandchildren; siblings Barb Johnson of Hinton, Iowa, Judy (Marv) Solko of Calumet, Iowa, Brian (Diane) Kraft of Cherokee, Iowa; sister-in-law Rhonda Saxen of Cherokee, Iowa, brother-in-law Craig (Melody) Grayson of Mason City, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
