DOLORES B. BRIGGS, 83, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Friday afternoon, September 30, 2016 in the Accura Health Care at Cherokee, Iowa.

Dolores was born on October 5, 1932 at Sutherland, Iowa to LeRoy & Letha (Dodge) Draper. She graduated from Sutherland High School in 1950. She was married to Paul Raper on October 25, 1950. Dolores was later married to George Briggs Jr. on February 28, 1978 at Elk Point, South Dakota. She was a housewife and was the bookkeeper for Briggs Motor. She enjoyed flowers, decorating, baking, loved her Christmas ornaments that she had collected for years and her cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Bob and Merlin Draper, and a sister Dorothy Schook.

She is survived by her husband George; one son: Bryon (Donise) Raper of Cherokee, Iowa; three step-children: Dave Briggs of Larrabee, Iowa; Doug (Kay) Briggs of Marcus, Iowa; Deb (Warren) Sleezer of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren: Alicia (Marshall) Parks of Oak Harbor, Washington; Ben Raper of Cherokee, Iowa; Kelsey (Kyle) Kepplinger of Scotland, South Dakota; two great grandchildren: Leita and Savannah; also several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; a sister: Joyce Hicks of Weslaco, Texas; also several nieces and nephews
