DOLORES M. MAHLER, 78, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Wednesday morning, August 25, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Private family graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa at a later date.

Dolores was born March 1, 1932 in Cherokee County, Iowa to William Goosen Sr. and Dora (Schmidt) Goosen. She graduated from Union High School in 1951. She had worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. She was married to Richard Mahler on September 7, 1958 at Aurelia, Iowa. She had been a resident of the Cherokee area all her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on December 18, 1997, a daughter Dawn Yates in 1990, a brother Clarence Goosen.
She is survived by three children; Bryan Mahler of Saudi Arabia; Diane Mahler of Sioux City, Iowa; Blaine Mahler of Cherokee, Iowa; three grandchildren: Nicholas & Megan Mahler, Audra Yates; a brother William Goosen and his wife Ruby of Paullina, Iowa.
