DONALD L. HENDERSON, 52, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Wednesday morning, October 17, 2012 at his home in Cherokee.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 20th, at 10 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time. On line condolences may be left www.boothbyfuneral.com

Donald was born August 26, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Phillip and Ellen (Rice) Henderson. He graduated from Eden Prairie, Minnesota High School in 1979. He had worked as a cook in Perkins restaurants at Eden Prairie and Hopkins, Minnesota. He later followed the construction trade while living in Florida. He had lived in Cherokee the past 3 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and loved his time spent at the Good Times Place at the Cherokee Community Center. He enjoyed gardening and making wooden lawn ornaments.

He was preceded in death by his father Phillip in 1997 and a sister Patty Henderson in 2007.

He is survived by two children; Cheri Cortez of Burnsville, Minnesota and Jeff Henderson of Minnesota; his mother Ellen Henderson of Cherokee, Iowa; one brother and one sister; Mike (Kerri) Henderson of Chaska, Minnesota; Bonnie (Steve) Huiras of Hopkins, Minnesota; one aunt, two uncles, several nieces and nephews.
