Donna Faye Waller, daughter of Earl and Wilma (Beerman) Miller was born July 11, 1928, Plymouth County, Iowa. She attended Marcus High School and graduated in 1946.
On January 19, 1947, Donna was united in marriage to Max E. Waller of Marcus, Iowa. They farmed south of Marcus then moved to Long Beach, CA for a brief time before returning their family to Iowa in 1958 where they made a home in Cherokee.
She was a beautician for 52 years having a home shop at their farm and also in Cherokee. Donna took her services to the Cherokee Mental Health, Careage Hills and Paula's Beauty Shop until she retired at the youthful age of 80. She was an active member of many organizations including St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Joy Church Circle, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the Happy (Crochet) Hooker Club and various bridge clubs. Many wonderful years were also spent as a member of the Order of Eastern Star where she proudly served as past matron of Carnation Chapter in Cherokee and Evening Shade Chapter in Spencer.
Donna's greatest joy was giving from the heart whether it came from her kitchen, sewing machine or nimble fingers. To her, it was greater to give than to receive. Never did a Christmas go by that her famous knitted slippers did not appear. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a fun-loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and all were fortunate to have her in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Kenneth E. Miller, two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Max of Cherokee; three children: Steve Waller of Spencer; Joan Waller of Spencer; Betty Jean Brown-Smock of Bethoud, CO.; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Miller of Sheldon, IA.
