DORIS E. MARTIN, 95, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Thursday morning, October 5, 2023 at Careage Hills Nursing Home.

Joint memorial services for Doris and Lyle Martin on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the upper level of the Cherokee Community Center with lunch and a time of fellowship with the family to follow.  Private family burial will be held in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa.  The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

Doris was born on August 10, 1928 to Ralph and Alice (Schorg) Hoffman at Spencer, South Dakota.  She graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1946.  She was united in marriage to Howard Napier on August 28, 1948 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Doris and her husband, Howard, were co-owners of Napier's Inc.  She was later married to Lyle Martin in Junction City, South Dakota on June 15, 1976.

Doris was one of Jehovah's Witness.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard in 1970 and husband Lyle in 2020, brother Herb Hoffman, and granddaughter Agnes Lillie Martin.

Doris is survived by her children, Janet (Marc) Martin of Brush Prairie, Washington, Joani Napier of Cherokee, Iowa, Mark (Nancy) Napier of Cherokee, Iowa and Craig Napier of Cherokee, Iowa; stepson, Steve (Louise) Martin of Aurelia, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
