DOROTHY A. DAVIDSON, 92, of Cherokee, Iowa, formerly of Madison, Wisc. and originally from Alta, Iowa, passed away Wednesday morning, December 8, 2010 in Careage Hills at Cherokee.
Graveside services will be held at the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Wisconsin. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee is in charge of the local arrangements. Dorothy was born on February 12, 1918 at Alta, Iowa to Carl & Ingrid (Melin) Anderson. She attended and graduated from Highview Consolidated High School in Iowa. She was married to Floyd J. Davidson on August 2, 1939 and came to Madison in 1941, when her husband was appointed as a USDA Meat Inspector at the Oscar Mayer Plant. Dorothy worked 17 years at the Moseley's Gift Shop as a buyer and then 22 years at the Notable Stevens House of Gifts.
She enjoyed reading, nature, all animals, crafts and loved her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd on July 27, 1996 after almost 57 years of marriage, two sisters Julia and Lila, four brothers Nels, Herbert, John and Forrest.
She is survived by two brothers: Wilbur Anderson of Lakewood, Washington; Kenneth Anderson and his wife Joan of Cherokee, Iowa; also many nieces and nephews.
