DOROTHY JEAN FLETCHER

Dorothy Jean Fletcher, age 80 of Cleghorn, IA, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Accura Healthcare in Cherokee, IA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, IA. Father Dan Rupp will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cherokee, IA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Dorothy Jean Fletcher, the daughter of William and Vivian (Watson) Burton, was born October 8, 1945, in Toledo, OH. Her childhood years were spent in San Francisco, CA, where she attended school and graduated.

Dorothy married James Stuart on December 19, 1964. They resided in San Fransico. They later divorced and she was united in marriage to Darrell Fletcher in 1986. They moved to Cottonwood, CA and lived there for several years. Dorothy then moved to Roseau, MN, to be closer to her family and resided there for 20 years until moving to Cleghorn, IA in 2021.

Dorothy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, coloring, attending church, and caring for her dogs. Most of all, she loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On December 23, 2025, Dorothy passed away at Accura Healthcare at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Vivian Burton; one daughter, Susan Dial, two brothers, and one sister.

She will lovingly be remembered by her children, William (Tammie) Stuart of Oklahoma, James (Christina) Stuart of Marshall, TX, Danielle (John) Restuchi of Cherokee, IA, and Daniel Fletcher of Cleghorn, IA; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
