Douglas S. Mullins , 75, of Cherokee, Iowa,  passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

G raveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Cedar Cemetery, Larrabee Iowa. Rev. Lynn Potter will officiate. Everyone is welcome to attend. Douglas was born on April 7, 1945 to Toby and Darlene (Stanford) Mullins in Cherokee, Iowa.  He graduated from Estherville High School in 1964.  He worked at Hy-Grade Foods in Storm Lake, Iowa for about 20 years and then Smithfield Packing Plant in Smithfield, Virginia, retiring in 1999.

He was affiliated with United Methodist Church.  He loved cars, racing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Melvin C. Wright, and a brother-in-law, Lyle Farley.

He is survived by his two sons, Matthew M. (Nicole) Mullins of Newport News, Virginia, David D. (Sangell) Mullins of Joliet, Illinois, three grandchildren, Conner, Carson, and Linsey Mullins, and one great grandson, Jeremy J. Fitzgerald, Brothers  Roger (Sandi) Mullins of Anthom, Arizona and Ray Mullins of Peterson, Iowa, sisters Becky Wright (Tom) Fuxa of Excelsior, Minnesota, Gloria Farley of Byron, Minnesota, and Leslie Wright of Estherville, Iowa, also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
