DUANE C. HILL, 77, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.  Burial will be in the Afton Township Cemetery, rural Cherokee, Iowa.  A reception and luncheon will follow the burial at Jobie's Pasttime.

Duane was born on June 30, 1946 in Cherokee, Iowa to Charles William and Mary Frances (Barlow) Hill.  He graduated from Aurelia High School in 1965.  He began working for Christensen Brothers in 1974 and worked there for 38 years until his retirement in 2013.  He was a hard worker and always very proud of his work.

In his free time, he enjoyed driving around town on his scooter and socializing with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Monica Hill, infant sister Marilyn, sister Carol Otto, and brothers David Hill and James Hill.

He is survived by his son, Jeremy Hill of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister Dianne (Roy) Lyons of Orange Park, Florida; special friend Cinda Purgett of Cherokee, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
