EDITH G. CRESAP, 75, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 16th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Mr. LeRoy Rupp will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Edith will be cremated following the services with burial at a later date in Walla Walla, Washington. Edith was born July 12, 1933 at Walla Walla, Washington. She graduated from high school in Walla Walla. She was married to Marion Cresap on April 17. 1959 in Spokane, Washington. She had lived in Cherokee since 1969, prior to this in Rembrandt and Larrabee, Iowa. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. Edith enjoyed sewing, shopping, fishing, quilting and embroidery work.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one great grandson.

She is survived by her husband and three children: Robert Cresap and his wife Marilyn of Louisville, Kentucky; Richard Cresap and his wife Cindy of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; Rena Handke and her husband Randy of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one brother Tom Leid of Washington.
