EDNA M. KRUEGER, 99 , of Richardson, Texas, formerly of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Villages of Lake Highlands Senior Living in Dallas, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa.  Pastor Jonathan Riggert will officiate.  Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa.  Visitation with the family present will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Services will be livestreamed on the Boothby Funeral Home website through the assistance of Fuller Digital Solutions. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com .

Edna was born on May 22, 1923 to Harvey and Mary (Littlefield) Goodwin at South Berwick, Maine.   She graduated from Berwick Academy, South Berwick, Maine in 1941.

She was united in marriage to Bernard E. Krueger on December 4, 1943 at Dover, New Hampshire.  She worked for the Portsmouth New Hampshire Navy Yard during World War II.  They relocated to Cherokee, where she worked for the USDA Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation office from 1948 to 1958, before staying home and being a homemaker.

Edna was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa.  She was very active in the church as a member of the Ladies Aid and Quilters Group.  Edna taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Edna was a past member of the Cherokee Public Library Board and the Cherokee Area Archives.

Edna was an avid gardener.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, and cooking.  She cherished the time she spent with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard in 2004; her parents; brother, Harvey "Milt" Goodwin and sister-in-law, Eva Goodwin; sister, Doris Blanchard; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernst and Erna Krueger; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eva and Earl Routson, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elva and Clarence "Bub" Kauer; and brother-in-law, Ted Heaton.

Edna is survived by her children, Jim Krueger of Richardson, Texas and Kristi (Andrew Russell) Cooper of Spencer, Iowa; three grandchildren, Kacey (Zach Bishop) Cooper of Algona, Iowa, Jarod (Mercedes) Cooper of Ruthven, Iowa,  and Chad Cooper of Spencer, Iowa; 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marjorie Heaton of Austin, Texas; also several nieces and nephews.
