Bud was born on May 4, 1926, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Milo and Helen (Warburton) Clow. He graduated from Cherokee High School in 1943. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army, 40th Division of the Infantry in the South Pacific and was in the Honor Guard for General Douglas MacArthur in Tokyo, Japan. He served two and a half years of active duty and was proud to have worn T/Sgt. stripes, Combat Infantry Badge, two bronze stars and a bronze arrowhead. Following his active duty he spent three years in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Bud was married to Dorothy Gilbert on November 12, 1947, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee. He farmed most of his life in Pilot township, except for the five years (1960-1965) he farmed at Rembrandt, Iowa. He was a grain and livestock farmer and heavy equipment owner and operator improving land for future generations through seriously applied conservation practices.

A member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, he served on the Veteran's Memorial Committee; was a Cherokee County Supervisor, serving for 12 years; a life member of the V.F.W., American Legion, and Soil Conservation Commission. Sharing his hobby of metal and woodworking with family and friends gave him great enjoyment. Pets always made him smile.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy; four children: Julie (David) Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska; Monica (Craig) Cowan-Schmidt of Cherokee, Iowa; Cynthia (David) Stevenson of Marcus, Iowa; Jody Jerome (Tracy) Clow of West Linn, Oregon; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Hospice- in appreciation of the wonderful Hospice services we received during this difficult time.
