EDWIN D. SPRINGER, 65, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Tuesday evening, August 4, 2015 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
Edwin was born on January 4, 1950 at Cherokee, Iowa to Edwin A. & Gertrude (Retzer) Springer. He graduated from Meriden-Cleghorn High School in 1968. He was affiliated with the Cleghorn Christian Church. He had been a resident of the Cleghorn and Cherokee area all of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Elton Springer and a brother-in-law Homer Childs.
He is survived by one brother and two sisters: Larry Springer and his wife Bev of Fellsmere, Florida; Joyce Childs of Snohomish, Washington; Karen Hempel and her husband Dwayne of Quimby, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
It was Edwin's request to be cremated and private family burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com
