EILEEN B. MEYER, 76, of Washta, Iowa passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held Monday, July 27th, at 2 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Rick Layman will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com
Eileen was born November 7, 1932 at Columbus, Nebraska to Ralph and Ilo (Baasch) Brown. She graduated from Omaha Central high school in 1951. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a degree in journalism. She was married to Albert Larry Meyer on June 17, 1961 at Omaha, Nebraska. She had worked at the headquarters of the Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha and had also worked as a sales clerk for Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Sunset View Cemetery Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Richard "Dick" Brown in 1991.
She is survived by her husband Larry of Washta; one son Bret Meyer and his wife Marian of Whitewater, Colorado; one daughter Holly Poggenpohl and her husband Rob of Lincoln, Nebraska; three grandchildren Seth, Grant and Ava Poggenpohl, one sister Diane Craig and her husband Guy of Surprise, Arizona.
