ELAINE R.  MEYER , 70, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Wednesday evening, November 20, 2019 at Accura Healthcare in Cherokee, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25 ^th at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, Iowa. Pastor Derek Evans will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Aurelia, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church on Monday. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 24 ^th from 12 Noon until 5 p.m. with the family present from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Elaine was born on January 23, 1949 in Cherokee, Iowa to Orville and Iona (Stratmann) Winterhof.  She graduated from Aurelia High School in 1967 where she enjoyed playing basketball and participating in music.  She went on to continue her education at Dana College in Blair, Nebraska finishing with a degree in business.  In 1973, she was united in marriage to Randy Meyer in Blair, Nebraska. From that union, she had three children; Dawn, Karen and David. They were later divorced. She had lived in Missouri Valley, Iowa from 1968 until 1984 when she moved back to Cherokee, Iowa.

Elaine was always a hard worker having jobs at the Cherokee Country Club, Danny's, Wilson Foods, Stephens Cleaners, and most recently North Star Community Credit Union, which she retired from in June of 2013.

She enjoyed being in the Cherokee Bowling League, and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, where she sung in the church choir and played the bells.  In her free time, she enjoyed cross stitching, flower gardening, spending time with family and attending her grandchildren's activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dean Winterhof.

Those left to cherish her memories: three children and their families: Dawn (Marty) Jenness and children Jena and Jonathan of Cherokee, Iowa, Karen (Bryan) Phillips and children Joci, Belle, Jennifer, Faith, Noah, and Kinsley of Marion, Iowa, and David (Sarah) Meyer and children Paydon, Audra, Maebel, and Dolan of Coggon, Iowa; two brothers and three sisters: Janet (Dan) Whitney of Aurelia, Iowa, Joyce (Ken) Bahrke of Panora, Iowa, Craig (Patty) Winterhof of Denver, Colorado, Brian (Lorri) Winterhof of Cherokee, Iowa, and Marcia (Gary) Klett of Everly, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
