ELEANOR E. ALLISON, 98, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at Good Samaritan Center in Holstein, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 12th at 11 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Ethan Sayler will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. Eleanor was born January 6, 1914 at Peterson, Iowa to August and Lena (Klatt) Grapenthin. She graduated from Peterson High School. She was married to Tompkins C. Allison on November 25, 1939 in Cherokee, Iowa. She was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church. Eleanor lived in Cherokee all her married life. She moved to the Good Samaritan Center in July of 2011. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in her yard and around her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tompkins Allison on January 13, 1986, two brothers Lester and Elmer Grapenthin and a sister Opal Kracht.
She is survived by one nephew and 4 nieces; Douglas Kracht of Peterson, Iowa; Jane Barker of Des Moines, Iowa; Mary Allison of Fort Worth, Texas, Ruth Woodcock of Yountville, California; Nancy Goodspeed of Fort Worth, Texas; also several cousins.
